November Cookie Countess Cutter Club

Welcome to the November Club!

Welcome to the November Cutter Club subscription box! If it is your first month - welcome! If it's your second - welcome back!!

I know that when you receive this month's box, you will most likely still be in Thanksgiving mode. Planning menus, cooking pies, or decorating pie shaped cookies. But Christmas will be less than 4 weeks after Thanksgiving this year! So we have to be ready!

My idea for this months cutter set was to create a set that gave the vintage vibes of a sparkly pink Christmas tree. But to also be versatile for other themes.

Be sure to check out the downloads available below for the cookie cutters graphics. You can use these for your projector or royal icing transfers to use for the lettering.

I hope you have fun creating this set of cookies!
And thanks for being a part of the Cutter Club!

I made a piping consistency and flood consistency for each color except the dark green - I just made a piping one for that color. If you are comfortable cutting and piping/flooding with tipless bags, go for it! If you prefer tips I would recommend a 1.5 tip for outlines and details, and a 2 for flooding.

Below you will find step by step instructions for our first 4 cookies. Followed by a video for the 5th. This is of course only if you want to replicate these cookies exactly. Feel free to have fun! Use different colors, or different techniques. Let your creativity shine if you want! And remember that you can also use these same cutters for different occasions... The house could be used as a bird house, a "love shack" for Valentine's day, or a bunny house for Easter. The HO HO HO cookie could be an XO XO XO cookie for Valentine's day, or a stack of presents. The car can used in tons of different themes as well. A cookie "flip" is a great way to get the most from your cutters.

Let's get started!

1. Car

2. Ornament

3. Mistletoe

If you have a projector, this a good design to use it for. This way you don't have to worry too much about the placement of the leaves. The image downloads are at the end of this blog.

4. HO HO HO

Let's talk about royal icing transfers!
Royal icing transfers are a great way to make cookie details ahead of time. They also allow you to trace the design, making it easy to get a consistent result that may be harder when piping by hand.

When using transfers for letters, it gives you the opportunity to space them out exactly where needed too.

If you want to use the transfer method for these cookies, simply print out the PDF found below. Printed as a PDF on standard printer paper (print at 100%, do not adjust) will give you the correct size for the size of the cookies. You will then place this paper under a sheet of parchment or acetate, and pipe directly on the parchment or acetate.

Leave the transfers to dry overnight and simply peel them off when ready to use them.

We also have a blog on using royal icing transfers linked below.

5.Christmas House

For the video tutorial this month I decided to make the Christmas House. It does have more steps than the other cookies, but overall they are simple and easy to do.

I stenciled the stripes with gold airbrush to give the cookie a little detail of shine, and give the illusion of clapboarding. If you don’t have an airbrush you could paint stripes on, do the body of the house in sections, or simply just leave it pink.

I printed and cut out the shape of the house to trace, instead of eyeballing it. Totally up to you!

I also added the detail of a candy cane sprinkle to the door for a little Christmasy pizzaz. You could also pipe a bow, or small wreath. There are lots of ways you could get creative with a small Christmas house! And I liked the idea that this hosue cutter could be used for lots of other seasons or occasions.
Once again, thank you so much for being part of our first Cutter Club! I hope you have as much fun making these Christmas cookies as I did! I will link all the products I used in this set below, in case you find you need to do some shopping.  This month's coupon is 15% off Cookie Countess brand gel colors! Perfect in case you do need any supplies to complete these designs. If you have any questions or comments you can feel free to leave them below. I would love to hear what you think of this month's box!

    Precision Rolling Pins 101

Don’t you love it when you bite into a cookie that is thick and underbaked on one end, but thin and overbaked on the other? You don’t? Yeah, me neither.  If you use a standard rolling pin to make rolled-out...

    Piping Tips 101

If you were stranded on a dessert island (see what I did there?) and could only bring five piping tips, which ones would you bring? Although I love a good tipless bag, there are just some times where I feel...
