Some Bunny Loves Spring Rainy Days: A Rainy Easter Cookie Set

This set truly began with a conversation.
Over the past few months, many of our subscribers have reached out asking for cutters that feel cuter, softer, and more versatile. They wanted designs that could work for a specific theme but wouldn’t feel limited to just one holiday. They asked for pieces that could transition into a great variety of themes. That feedback really stuck with me.

As a designer, I always try to balance two things: aesthetic and functionality. I want something adorable and eye-catching, but at the same time I also want it to make sense for you guys. I know how important it is to invest in cutters you can reuse in multiple ways.

So when brainstorming this set, I asked myself:
How can I make something unmistakably Easter… but still flexible enough to carry through the entire spring season?

Spring rain felt like the perfect answer.
There’s something so charming about spring showers, the soft clouds, the fresh grass, the tiny flowers blooming everywhere. And of course, rain boots, umbrellas, and sweet little animals enjoying it all. From there, the concept almost designed itself.

That’s how we ended up with:

  • Raincoat Bunny
  • Cute Duckie with Umbrella
  • Egg-Shaped Umbrella
  • Floral Rain Boots
  • Cute Raining Cloud

Each cookie fits the Easter theme beautifully, but none of them feel restricted to it. Swap colors, adjust florals, or change facial expressions and suddenly you have a whole new vibe. This set is soft, whimsical, and full of personality, but most importantly, it was shaped by your requests. That’s what makes it extra special to me.

Spring rain calls for soft skies, fresh grass, and blooming florals, so I leaned into a pastel-forward palette with a pop of brightness.

Color Palette Used:

  • Yellow
  • Pastel Green
  • Lavender Purple
  • Peachy Pink
  • Teal
  • White

Here’s how I created each shade:

  • Yellow – Sunshine Yellow food color from The Cookie Countess
  • Pastel Green – Gourmet Green + Sunshine Yellow from The Cookie Countess
  • Teal – Mermaid Teal from The Cookie Countess
  • Lavender Purple – Regal Purple from Ann Clark
  • Peachy Pink – Bubble Gum Pink + Sunshine Yellow
  • White – Classic white icing (no added color)

This palette works beautifully with the theme:

  • The yellow brings sunshine after the rain.
  • The pastel green represents fresh spring grass.
  • The lavender purple and peachy pink add that soft floral sweetness.
  • The teal mimics rainy skies in the cutest way.
  • And the white keeps everything balanced and clean.

Together, they create a cohesive, airy spring look that feels both Easter-y and timeless.

For all colors except white, I used:

  • Stiff consistency
  • Hybrid consistency

For white, I only needed hybrid consistency.

Stiff Consistency was a star for this set.

I used it to pipe:

  • Drop flowers using a star tip (Ateco 17)
  • Leaves using a leaf tip (PME 51)

Those tiny florals on the rain boots added dimension and texture that made the cookie feel more professional and finished.

But stiff consistency isn’t just for flowers!
You can also use it for:

  • Ruffles and fabric texture
  • Grass effects
  • Basketweave details
  • Clouds with more volume
  • Dimensional bows
  • Fur texture

Adding small piped details creates contrast against smooth flooded areas and makes your designs pop.

Hybrid consistency was perfect for:

  • Clean outlines
  • Controlled flooding
  • Small detail work without overspreading

It gave me the flexibility to work efficiently without constantly switching consistencies for outlining and flooding.

For a better understanding of icing consistencies refer to this blog here. We also have a very thorough online class here.

If you are comfortable cutting and piping/flooding with tipless bags, go for it! If you prefer tips I would recommend a #1 or #1.5 tip for details and outlines , and a #2 or 2.5 for flooding.

Below you will find step by step instructions for all the cookies. Followed by videos on how to decorate them. Feel free to have fun! Use different colors, or different techniques. Let your creativity shine if you want!

Now let's decorate some cookies!

A set made with You in Mind

“Some Bunny Loves Spring Rainy Days” is more than just an Easter set, it’s a reflection of how much your feedback shapes what I create.

When you asked for cuter, more versatile cutters, I truly listened. I wanted this collection to feel soft and whimsical, but also practical. Something you could use for Easter presales, yes, (if you sell cookies), but also for spring birthdays, baby showers, market pop-ups, and seasonal collections. A set that gives you room to play with colors, swap small details, and make it your own without feeling locked into one specific occasion.

From the sweet little raincoat bunny to the cheerful duckie and floral boots, each design was created with intention. The soft pastel palette, the dimensional florals piped in stiff consistency, the balance of smooth hybrid flooding, all of it works together to create a set that feels cohesive, elevated, and full of personality.

I especially love how the added textures bring life to the cookies. Those tiny drop flowers and piped leaves aren’t just decorative, they add movement and softness, almost like real spring blooms after a gentle rain. It’s those small details that transform a simple design into something that feels thoughtful and special.

Most importantly, this set exists because of you.

Your messages, your suggestions, they matter more than you know. Every time you tell me what you’d like to see more of (or less of!), it helps me refine future collections so they serve you better. So please, keep the feedback coming. Tell me what themes you want. Tell me what you’d tweak. Tell me what you’d love to see next.

And speaking of next...

Our upcoming set will also be spring themed, and trust me, it is super cute. Think playful, seasonal, and packed with charm in a totally fresh way. I can’t wait to share it with you.

Until then, I hope this rainy spring collection inspires you to experiment, play with color mixing, and embrace those soft, sweet seasonal vibes.

Because even on rainy days, there’s always room for something bright, cheerful, and made with love.

Happy Baking!

I am loving how you are doing your PDFs now with the picture and steps all on one page! And the cute page border is new too! I also like your new packaging because I can easily re-use your boxes when I make and ship cookies to my family out of town. Thank you!
