This Red, White and Blue Bundt Cake only takes a few minutes of prep time plus baking. Decorate it with sprinkles (as we did), sanding sugar, or fresh strawberries and blueberries.

Your finished Bundt cake can be made up to 3 days head of time if it's stored in a covered contained in the refrigerator. You can glaze it before or after refrigeration.

Ingredients

For the Cake

1 Box of White Cake Mix (do not substitute yellow, your blue layer will come out green)
Red Food Coloring
Blue Food Coloring

For the Glaze

2 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon milk or warm water NOTE: You may need to add more to get desired consistency, but start with this amount.
1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring

Directions

Mix the cake mix according to box directions and preheat your oven. Separate into 3 bowls. Add 3-5 drops of red gel food coloring and gently mix to distribute color. Repeat with blue.
Lightly grease your Bundt cake pan and dust it with flour. Tap the pan over a sink to evenly distribute the flour.
Layer your cake mixes one at a time. The layers do not have to be even, so don't tap or bang the pan (it will make your cake flat!), and don't be tempted to mix the colors - you'll end up with a purple cake!
Bake according to cake box directions and turn the pan over to cool cake on a wire rack. If you cake is slightly stuck, gently slide a butter knife around the edge and tap the pan with a wooden spoon to release the cake.
One your cake is fully cool, mix all glaze ingredient in a bowl until smooth. It should be a thick liquid. Pour over you cake and decorate as desired.

Recipe Note

Flavor additions: You can customize this cake by mixing in white baking chips, sprinkles, or coconut flakes into each of the three batter bowls before you pour it into the pan.
