This is the finest tip available for icing! It takes some practice to work with a tip this fine, and it's important that your icing has NO lumps when you use this. Some decorators, like our friend Lisa (The Bearfoot Baker), even recommend pushing your icing through clean, unused nylon before using this tip.

My go to tip for fine piping

I only use the PME 00 for fine line piping. They're a staple in my cookie tool kit. Great quality.

PROFESSIONAL TIP

Again I love the PME tips. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 start is that I'm still trying to get the right consistancy to make it flow out perfectly. I love the tiny size line it gives, but have not reached the sweet spot in the icing consistancy. If I were more professional at this I would give this 10 stars ....I'm determined to find that point where I can use this more.

Wish I hadn’t bought

I hate giving anyone or anything a bad review, but I totally regret buying this tip. I’m still newish to cookies, so maybe someone with more experience would prefer. It would start to work, then squiggly lines, then nothing. Several people suggested a clog. My scribe won’t fit through it. They also suggested straining icing through panty hose first. I just don’t have time for that. Just something for you to think about before you order!

Sherri, I'm sorry you did not have a great experience with this tip. PME products are very good quality and rarely fail. It sounds like your icing may have been too thick, too cold, or has some lumps. You are correct that many bakers strain their icing through nylons before using very fine tips. When you're just starting out, begin with more standard sized tips like 1.5 or 2. Thank you for sharing your experience.
