Easy No Spread Sugar Cookie Grocery Store Hack
We did a little experimenting in the CCHQ kitchen this week!
For everyone who is rushing around this holiday season, we have a minimal spread quick sugar cookie hack for you!
We are all looking for extra time during the holidays to “get it ALL done”. This hack is perfect for whipping up a super-quick batch of ready-to-decorate sugar cookies to practice on, for a last-minute cookie swap, or for decorating with the kiddos.
We found Pillsbury “Ready to Bake” Sugar Cookie Dough (comes in pull-apart squares) was the best for this recipe.
Tutorial:
-
Let one package of the “Ready to Bake, Tear & Bake” Sugar Cookie dough come to room temperature.
-
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
-
Place the sugar cookie dough in the mixing bowl using the paddle attachment.
-
Add ¾ cup of all-purpose flour in with the cookie dough.
-
Mix until incorporated. The mixture will be a bit “crummy”.
-
Roll out the dough ball between two sheets of parchment paper. (I used the ¼” Cookie Countess precision rolling pin).
-
The dough does not to be chilled before baking.
-
Cut your shapes & bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-13 minutes.
-
As soon as your cookies are baked, you can use a fondant smoother to make the cookie less “puffy”.
-
Let cook & then you’re ready to decorate.
Notes:
-
You can double or triple this recipe.
We didn't feel that the addition of the flour dried out the cookie at all, they were tasty and still had a soft bite.
From everyone here at CCHQ, have a happy and magical holiday season!
